Hey there you wonderful community!
First off, I have to apologize for not being as visible as I would have liked to have been. There are many of you on here that deserve acknowledgment for your wonderful contribution on the forum.
The discussions that you have amongst yourselves have inspired Glamster, Retroman and myself to look beyond the current community for a fresh direction. By and large, we have found that direction and that direction is really the subject of this post.
GlamRock.com WIDESCREEN is the first total makeover of the website since we launched on September 2007. As the term widescreen suggests, the site is moving to a wider format. However that is not the only change. Other changes are -
1. Extended profiles to provide searches by age, sex and location. That's right. Single glammers can hook up privately or organize outings and events.
2. Video & Voice Chat on GlamRock.com
3. Much improved Chat Room
4. Ability to make friends and manage your friends
5. Much improved messaging between friends
6. Ability to host Videos and MP3 files that can be commented upon and rated
7. Better featuring of new members and members currently online
8. Personal picture galleries that you can manage and your friends can comment on. Gosh, we know how much you guys love pictures!
9. Each profile will have it's own "Wall" so that friends can leave comments.
10. You can change your "Status Update" anytime you want
11. Bands can start their own groups and have their own forum, friends lists and bulletins to promote their gigs.
That's just a sampler of what the site will be offering. All that is in addition to the current Forum, Band pages, News and Radio.
The purpose of all these changes is to make GlamRock.com the premier online destination for people that are into 70s and 80s Glam music in a serious sort of way.
It is expected that this will all happen from the 1st of May...maybe sooner.
Despite the change, it is expected that the community's core values of "having fun, learning from the site, sharing our knowledge and respecting each other as if we were part of one big fucking family"...will remain unchanged.
