I didn't want to take away from Ani's thread and poem, so here goes....

This has 50 Sweet song titles in it. Took a bit to manipulate and have it make sense, but it got done ok..

    "Tripping Into The Past"

    Got my mind thinking
In a dream on kind of way,
How your past crawls back like a cockroach
And a dangerous game again we play..

    There’s a fountain of reminders
And the sixteens come flying back,
    We breakdown and daydream
Look for the lost action we lack..

    This doesn’t fade away
    Even into the night,
Jump the fence back into time
And that leap of faith, again, sets all right..

    Hold me once again
    Like you’re crazy and free,
Like a miss demeanour living inside
As the truest healer allows you to see..

    At midnight you get hit
Funk it up, live for the day,
Your past no longer slow motion
Tell yourself I’m on my way..

    Chop chop and call me
In a blockbuster kind of tone,
I’ll be with you soon, in a fever of love
No one can take away the music that’s our own..

    Let’s do it again
    Our souls a Dorian Gray,
Yell proudly I wanna be committed
I wish you would do as I say..

    It’s lonely out there
And it makes me wonder most,
Is this an identity crisis or am I invisible
Should I stand up to the hellraiser I host..

Keeping the eye games under wraps
As you hide the inner fox on the run,
You’d do it all over again, and again
Like white mice in their wheel of fun..

Not all of us are airheads and cover girls
We get ourselves hypnotized by laughter and pain....
We see the hard times and the heartbreak today
So set me free, please, in yesterday’s rain.

Well, thanks, but don't be jealous, ok? I just got this wild hair up my ass one day, and worked at it for a couple hours. Sometimes, it's all that it takes. Go through what you've written, and just give it some thought, I am sure you will be able to salvage the snippets into something amazing.

Like the one day I was out and about, doing some errands...... groceries, banking, shit like that..... and was getting pretty damned nutso about traffic, and having to think, that when a Sweet song came on the rock station, it was prime poetry for thought.

I have it here for you:

    "Sweet Song On The Radio"

    Something had to give
For me, again, to truly live,
    A song and a melody
    Opened my eyes to see……….
    Slowly I have come around
Feet firm back on the ground,
Took a trip to days past
To a time when life was a blast……….

    Sweet song on the radio
    Turned me upside down,
A Sweet song on the radio
Made a smile from my frown.

Up again ‘way past 2 am
I live through where I began,
    In floods the music memories
    Once again the soul sees………
Time may come, time may go
Life changes from what we know,
The things held so very near
Is the music we used to once hear………

    Sweet song on the radio
    Turned me upside down,
A Sweet song on the radio
    Made a smile from a frown….

    Easy as this truly is
    With life complicated all around,
A Sweet song on the radio
Gives back memories lost, now found.

I will pop this on here, too, for the Glamsters of the board, seeings it's a Sweet poem....

    Something Sweet

    Somewhere I lost my way
    To roots I have grown,
    Sometimes I need to find
    What I once had known………

    Some place I set aside
    What I truly held dear,
    Found it once again
And to me it drew near………

    Left my soul
    On something sour,
    Found again
    In a curious hour;
    What I missed
    At major cost,
    Was something Sweet
    That’s what I lost.

    You fly along life
    Your soul’s been set aside,
    Forget you crossed a line
    You should not abide…..

    Life tells you to ignore
    Then a memory comes back,
    That is when you realize
    Just when…..
    You jumped the wrong track………

    Left my soul
    On something sour,
    Found again
    In a curious hour;
    What I missed
    At major cost,
    Was something Sweet
    Is what I lost.

    Won’t make that mistake again…..
    Won’t let it go away……
Got the memory where it belongs…….
Will never again let it stray………

    Left my soul
    On something sour,
    Found again
    In a curious hour;
    What I missed
    At major cost,
    Was something Sweet
    That’s what I lost………….

    Here is where I belong
    In memories revived,
I think I can finally say
    I once again have arrived………

    Left my soul
    On something sour,
    Found again
    In a curious hour……….
    What I missed
    At major cost,
    I needed something Sweet
    It’s what I lost……..

    The Soul’s Food

Music is the soul’s groovy food
    No matter what your mood,
In the daylight sun, or darkest grey…….
    Music feeds us every day.

Got to wondering what I’d do
If it weren’t for the old and new,
From home made, to far off nations
    Music from so many generations..
That sound isn’t always the same
They all have different types of names,
Yet it matters not when you need
Music for your soul to feed…

Music is the soul’s groovy food
    No matter what your mood,
In the daylight sun, or darkest grey…
    Music feeds us every day.

    Got to thinking all about
How you can’t help but shout,
    To metal’s beat, .. or even cry…
    When the saddest of all makes you sigh;
    Tears you into different directions
The swarming warmth of music selections,
Always there, within reach, you know
To feed your hungry, craving soul…

Music is the soul’s groovy food
    Doesn’t matter what your mood,
In the daylight’s sun, or the night’s grey
    Music feeds us every day….

You feel better, don’t you know
When music allows you to grow,
Outside a comfort level you see
    A world’s wide variety……

    Because...
Music truly is the soul’s grooviest food
It can change with many a mood,
Can make daylight out of the night grey
Music feeds our souls every day.

Those are amazing. I would love to write the music to go with them. Can't write poetry to save my arse. I really respect you guys. Like I said, if you'd let me, I'd love to stick some melody and harmony behind your beautiful words. :)

Thanks, there, BT......... 'preciate the kind words.

    Which are you thinking?

Writing has been a bitch lately. I decided to put paint on canvas, as of late. I have a couple that probably need writing, but my mind has been garbaged up royal. Thank GAWD for the colours of blue and black.

Any of them would work, which is your favorite? Can't wait to get a piano back in here so I can work on music again.
