    Pretty fucked up!

Not a huge fan here, but I did like him when he used to be Australian. Two Hands was escellent.

It's always sad when someone so young dies :?

His family said he died of pneumonia. The pills thing was a rumor. I think..

I wish they would hurry up and sort it out so the media would quit talkin' shit about him. I just loved him. I hope his troubled soul is at peace.

That's the freaky thing: who knew he was troubled! He seemed pretty well put together.

and of course, I meant *excellent, where's the edit button gone?

Its sad.And yes the media is sensationalizing the drugs bit and we still don't know.

I wanna see Broke Back Mountain.I rarely go to theatres and I suspect that film won't get to basic cable any time soon and an edit job would be sacreligious!

Yeah he was well put together! I read a long time ago that he had a rough childhood and a lot of emotional problems. I don't think he did it on purpose though. He had a massage coming! His career was at it's peak! He was naked! That wouldn't be good planning. I don't know..I just makes me really sad.

"when he used to be australian" i didn't know he'd ever stopped...but there ya go...yeah...i'm sick of all these fucking deaths....it's just wrong so wrong...and as for the media...they can't make up their minds who died of what anymore...a new program that covered it here with their reporter in LA firstly made out they were sure it was drug related...then said they didn't know.

It's depressing. I feel like everyone's dying. Just in the area where I live, there's been about 10 deaths of kids my age or teachers. Then you hear about someone famous dying, and they're also pretty young. It's very creepy.

this is the latest UK side!

Post-mortem results on Hollywood star Heath Ledger have proved inconclusive, US authorities have said.

A spokesman for the medical examiner's office said further tests are needed and could take around ten days.

The Oscar-nominated actor was found dead on Tuesday in his apartment in New York.

The police are treating his death as possibly drug-related and sleeping pills were found close to his body.

There are also unconfirmed reports that the Brokeback Mountain actor was suffering from pneumonia at the time of his death.

Ledger was discovered at 3.26pm local time by his housekeeper when she tried to wake him for his appointment to have a massage.

He was found face down at the foot of his bed and prescription pills were lying nearby.

In Australia, Ledger's father Kim spoke of his family's grief and said the actor's death was accidental.

'We, Heath's family can confirm the very tragic, untimely and accidental passing of our dearly loved son, brother and doting father of Matilda,' Mr Ledger said in Perth.

'He was a down to earth, generous, kind-hearted, life-loving, unselfish individual who was extremely inspirational to many.'

Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd said the country had lost one of its top actors.

He said: 'Heath Ledger's diverse and challenging roles will be remembered as some of the great performances by an Australian actor.'

Fellow Australian star Nicole Kidman said it was a 'terrible tragedy' and sent her condolences to Ledger's family while Mel Gibson, who played his vengeful father in The Patriot, said: 'I had such great hope for him.'

The star was reported last year to have broken up with his longtime companion, actress Michelle Williams, who played his wife in Brokeback Mountain and was the real-life mother of the actor's young daughter, Matilda.

Ms Williams is travelling back from Sweden to New York and her father said: 'Tennyson got it right in the poem when he described someone as having died at a young age but burning the candles at both ends, and oh what a beautiful flame he made.'

Ledger is currently starring in I'm Not There, one of several actors playing a role representing Bob Dylan, and had just finished playing The Joker in the next Batman film, The Dark Knight.

Ledger's other film credits included A Knight's Tale, Monster's Ball and Ten Things I Hate About You.

My brother just came up with the worst joke ever >.<
Y'know how The Joker's catchphrase is "Why so serious?" Well.. my brother thinks it'd be brilliant if he went up to Heath's family at his funeral and say "Why so serious?"

so sad, too young... just too damn young, and he has a 2 year old daughter. I feel for her, and his family.
I always thought he was a good-looking guy, I haven't really seen too many films he's in though.

Not a huge fan of this guy...Until I saw Batman, I know everybody says that but that guy was the Joker, the one I read in the comic books. He was a method actor and took on the persona of the Joker, Jack Nicholson says that part messes with anyone's head. Still I wonder how much more he could've done. I now want to see his last movie the Terry Gilliam (one of my fave directors) directed "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" where he reportedly plays a schizo, which if the Joker part is any indication, he will do a bang up job. RIP Heath.

uh well first off, he locked himself in a closet for 2 weeks to get crazy enough to play the Joker, isn't that fucked up? But I guess the Joker was the role that literally killed him =( his acting was stunning though !

Yeah I know. The problem with method acting, and I have seen it as a camera man and 2nd AD on various film and TV projects I have worked on, is you literally take steps to become the character. Whereas it is more real to us, it really does mess with the psychology of the artist practicing it. Some can get it under control, others can't and they either need to get help or they self destruct. I can't make any judgments about Heath, I didn't know his position or state of mind, I do believe it was a accident. He couldn't sleep and took one too many pills. It might or might have not had to do with the parts he took. All I know is it sucks and it is tragic for his daughter. Sorry to get all soft rock on everybody.
