Good man!
I'm much the same.
I'm more into Bolan at the moment. But, have much the same tastes, Borntolose. Excellent!

Good to know 70s glam is still lauded! I'm just getting into T-Rex right now, they're great but I don't know as many songs by them as I do by the other glam bands I worship. At the moment it's Hot Love, Ride A White Swan, Get It On and a few others, but I'm well aware that these are just the popular ones and I'm only scratching the surface. Any recommendations?
And which do you think is the best Mott album? I have All The Young Dudes and it's genius the whole way through, but I'd like another one and I'm not sure which to get.
Ahh, for T-Rex, I'd say just get two albums - Electric Warrior and The Slider. These are the first of the glam albums, and the first utilising the electric guitar. Although their early and later stuff is still fantastic, these two albums are what your after!!
As for Mott - I'm in the same perdicament as you!! I've only just recently discovered them if I'm honest. I agree though, that All the Yound Dudes is genius right the way through. My favourites Jerkin' Crocus!
If you find a good album, let me know!!!
My fave T. Rex track is either Monolith or Soul Of My Suit. Both are gorgeous beyond words.
My fave Mott album is... *drum roll* Drive On (without Ian), it's more consistant and energetic than their 'classic' albums. Heavier too.
Thanks for the advice! I'll have a listen to the T-Rex recommended. I think Mott were a pretty class band in every stage, and I've heard lots of songs from different albums that I like, which makes it harder to decide. Roll Away The Stone is amazing, as is The Ballad Of Mott The Hoople, and All The Way From Memphis etc. But they're from all different albums.
As for me, I love all the songs off All The Young Dudes. Jerkin' Crocus is great. It sounds a bit like Brown Sugar. I also really like Sucker and Ready For Love. And Sea Diver is beautiful.
Hey I love all those guys mentioned but you totally forgot Roxy Music!!! They are so much fun to listen to!
(The chorus is the license plate number of Brian Ferry's car-- CPL 5938 LOL)
If you are a big Bowie/70's Brit Glam rock fan, you may also like my playlist I've made (it especially helps if you're a fan of the movie, Velvet Goldmine)

If you know of anyone I should add, feel free to let me know!
Hey! As I recall I mentioned them. Great band.
Is it playlist time? Cool! Here's mine: http://www.last.fm/user/Metalion_SOS/library/playlists/31wcb_sequins%252C_absinthe_and_dandies
Yeah, im more of a Glam Metal type of person, but lately ive been starting to listen to more Glam Rock. Ive been listening to Desolation Boulevard by Sweet all week long, its quickly become one of my favorite albums of all! Ive been listening to a lot of Slade and T.Rex too, but Sweet is my fav Glam Rock band so far. This song is pretty cool too, some rare Glam Rock band called Iron Virgin
KISS!!!
One of the best bands of the 70's
I love them!!
I'm liking Iron Virgin! Hadn't heard of them before.
Glad your getting into Glam Rock by the way. I'm more of a Glam Rock person myself, but I'm into some Glam Metal, haha.
I'll have to add all the Junk Shop glam bands. I bought three compilations including the one on the youtube link Toodles posted months ago and these kick major ass. I have to agree I love glam metal way more but the little known 70's glam bands kicked major ass. Bands like the Jook, Erasmus Chorum, Iron Cross, Angel, etc. RPM records put out three comps of little known 70's glam bands. These are needed if your a real glam fan.
There's a thread for the junkshop glam compilations:

I'm always on the lookout for more.
there not on here but mine would be pink floyd and queen
Kiss is my all-time favorite band, so obviously I would say Kiss (although there's something about every era to like). Besides Kiss, strictly 1970's-David Bowie, Alice Cooper, Mott The Hoople, Slade, Sweet, Lou Reed, Roxy Music, New York Dolls, Queen, Be Bop Deluxe, Angel.
