Thats right I said it. There were plenty of bands that disgraced in the 80's (mainly late) that disgraced glam and gave it a bad name. For me it was Trixer, but Firehouse is up there too...any others?

I can't say anybody ruined glam for me. If it had been ruined for me, I wouldn't still listen to it an enjoy it. There might be some artists that don't impress me much (glamster kinda hit that nail on the head with Nelson LOL), but they didn't ruin glam completely.

idk wat the poll is about.kinda off topic lmfao but i agree.in every genre bands made the style of music they are playing look bad.like for pop punk-fall out boy makes them look bad[actually aint that bad of a band]

Poison. They were the main ones to blame for the proliferation of false glam.

Glam was never ruined for me, unless the band sucks then I don't buy or listen to their albums. I am probably the 100th person to say right on about Nelson, pretty boys with no chops who should've joined the backdoor boys or N' the sync and down the drain!

there were tons of lame glam bands but thats because record people saw that it was makeing tons on money and they wanted to get thier greedy hands on it. so they went out and singed tons of bands that didnt really deserve to be huge. i say that greedy record people ruined glam. oh and gene simmons. dont get me wrong KISS is great theyve been my favorite band since i was eight, but gene just killed it with his greedyness and lame tv show.

While not ruining glam, I can't stand Def Leppard. Way too over-produced and barely rock and roll. Just the sheer number of third class bands being signed ruined the genre. Winger is a big one. They had a record contract before even doing a gig. That's just how commercial it became.

i agree. although i am a fan of some of def leppards work. i dont like the sound effects they use. i prefer raw music. and it sucks that the drummer had his arm cut off cuz i dont like the electronic sound his drums make. but besides that theyre pretty good

Actually that's unfair. Some of the guys in Winger already had a rep within the industry, Kip had played with Alice Cooper, and Reb Beach was a sh1t hot sought after session player.

Altogether now "she's only 17!..."

You don't think I didn't know that?? But getting a major label contract without even playing a paying gig is rubbish. Especially since none of them were hugely famous. It wasn't like a Robert Plant or Gene Simmons side project. I know if I were in a band that had been working hard on the Strip during the 80s and had gotten nowhere I'd be annoyed that a bunch of virtual nobodies got a record deal without playing a show.

i agree totally lmfao. i would pissed if i was a band busting my ass out there every night for a record deal while this band comes along that hasnt even played a show goes out and gets a record deal. the 3 that ruined it for me are warrant[stuff sounded the same], KISS[still luv lick it up tho], and motley crue made and broke glam

you're missing the point, the guys in Warrant had already done it, they were 'famous' within the industry, definitely not nobodies.

I suppose the band that ruined Glam for me was Pantera. And it didn't help when Faster Pussycat tried to go Grunge and Shotgun Messiah went Industrial.

Yeah man, Pantera WAS glam for along time, but I think they played it cause it was popular. It wasn't till the 90's they found their own sound.

Pantera's glam stuff is excellent. I have "Power Metal", "Metal Magic" and "We Are The Night", of course in my opinion Pantera's last good album was "Cowboys from Hell".

i cannot say that anything can ruin my love for rock n' roll but i can say some glam bands who dissapointed me and some that healed me back
it's like nelson fucked me up but accept (eat the heat album) made me feel superb
than mike tramp fucked my hopes up (being kinda superhero for me until i saw freak of nature stuff) but then giuffria came into my attentio and i was happy again
so i can name trixter and hurricane (ok i may be stupid for hurricane but it's just my opinion)
all i can say i had greater dissapointments in heavy metal music than in glam music :)

i know for sure , there ain't no cure....for the need of rock n' roll

The glam bands I'm not a huge fan of are Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, and all the foreign ones. Nelson does not deserve to be called glam.
