Please list here any remakes you like that have been done by hair/metal/glam bands that were originally done by someone else...post the videos or mp3s if you have them!

well i don't know if you could consider it glam..but i LOVE early GNR's cover of Rose Tattoo's "Nice Boys". back when guns n roses just started out, i guess you might call them glam, haha. anyway, great cover, i think the 'studio' version of it is better than Rose Tattoo's.

Hey Razzlesnake, cool vid. GNR sure were glam but not like those pussy punk glammers but real tough boys.

That's the first time I seen Slash not playing a Gibson Les Paul. That's a BC Rich Warlock I believe and Axl, chaps and a thong, yeah, real nice,

Here's Girlschool, the all girl glam band doing my favorite Sweet song "Fox on the Run"

This cover is closer to the original version on the Desolation Boulevard album than what the Top5 US hit was.

    Syndrome477, whatcha think?

yeah...not that i can watch it and comment being in school and all, but at the end of the day the single was the single...not that i'm getting at you, because i prefer the raw passionate vocals of the album version...not to the mention the attitude at the end of the song....i guess i'll just have to wait till i get home and then watch this..see what i think.

I think Poison did "Little Willy" very nicely.

Def Leppard's cover of "Hellraiser" is amazing. They've got Justin Hawkins from The Darkness doing the higher vocals in it, and his voice fits it so perfectly. Definately a great tribute to Sweet.

Haha, no problem. I love the Yeah! album. It was actually what got me into Def Leppard in the first place. So many good covers!

Have you checked out the Def Leppard video on myspace (mine)? It's a cover of the song "No Matter What" by Badfinger. They do an awesome job!

I did check that out, actually. That's on the album as well, but I never had an idea they made a music video for it. They must have worked hard on those covers, because each one is an excellent job. My favorites on the album are "Hellraiser", "Stay With Me", and "The Golden Age of Rock and Roll"

Yeah! was a great album! I liked Hanging on the Telephone a lot! Hellraiser, too. Rock on was probably my most favorite =]

..Dunno if The Cure can be considred in this category, but I love their version of Tanited Love.

Hellraiser was a valiant effort, but fell a bit short of their usual great work. Not their fault, there were vocals on the original "Hellraiser" that could only be done by Steve Priest...but I was shocked when I was listening to bits from the album on Amazon.com and heard "Stay With Me"...it sounded exactly like the original! Unreal!

But they ruined the Slade classic How Does it Feel regarded by many including him out of oasis as the best slade track ever:

But Gary have you heard DL's cover of the Rod Stewart classic "Stay With Me"? Joe Elliot's voice is so close to Rod's that it's frightening. I love Joe's voice.

*..Dunno if The Cure can be considred in this category, but I love their version of Tanited Love.*

That's not The Cure, that's Soft Cell.
There are lots of misnamed songs on the net, and I've found that people tend to think The Cure have done every 80s song they can think of.
    http://www.last.fm/group/Song+Identification+Society/forum/16964/_/22792
    Check the 5th entry down.
Some other songs the Cure has NOT done:
(I'll Stop The World and)Melt With You-Modern English
    Come On Eileen-Dexy's Midnight Runners

    But...
The Cure *have* done great live covers of Do You Wanna Touch Me by the Glitter Band, Merry Christmas Everyone by Slade(in fact, that was the first version I heard)....and a frankly lackluster impromptu live version of Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart.
Somewhere, there's recordings of them doing Suffragette City and a few other Bowie songs, but I haven't heard that yet.
And on their first album(Three Imaginary Boys) they have a very interesting Punk version of Foxy Lady.

    Edit:
Here's Soft Cell's video for Tainted Love.
