i get so sick douchebags bashing this genre. most of them are usually fans of rap and new age. it really pisses me off. people just don't understand the awesomeness of this genre.

does anyone have the same feelings about this subject as me?

    Absolutely.
There are no theatrics in rap.
There is nothing fun about techno-pop.

Small minded people tend to put down what they don't like or understand. It makes them feel better. Reinforces their feelings that what they like is actually good. They don't have the confidence in themselves to think it's ok to like something just because they like it. They need everyone else to like it too. So they bash other peoples choices if they're different from theirs.

Personally i dont think we have too much to worry about these days. I was at a festival in the summer with Motley Crue playing and the place was packed with people who wouldnt necessarily go to see the crue but looked like they were loving it. Was a strange site seeing skin head slayer fans try to start a pit while singing Girls, Girls, Girls lol. Think the emo kids have more to worry about.

I like emo. It's the only interesting thing about this generation that I have seen yet.
Emo kids on skateboards. I love it. Emo kids don't wear those ridiculous baggy-ass pants either. They wear pants that fit. My son has long emo black hair, two lip rings and rides a skateboard. Gotta admit, he's got style.

i think a lot of people just don't realise how many songs from the key period they actually recognise...everyone at Napton was singing along to Sweet, Hollies and ACDC tunes....and if i say to people at school: The Sweet...they've never heard of them...but if i say Blockbuster or Wig Wam Bam...they've heard of it and they love it.

Some songs have been done by a ton of different artists so kids would notice the song but as for the artist...have no clue. Def Leppard covered "No Matter What" so well by Badfinger that everyone can sing it. But then, Def Leppard is very popular. But the point...well, you get it.

I personally get sick of anyone that bashes for the sake of bashing! You know? Just because I don't like it, ('hating' rap for one), doesn't give me the right to 'bash' it for anyone else. I just don't get why people think it's ok (like the OP said) to really trash someone elses choices. If you don't like it, don't listen to it...pretty simple really....Also agree with Donna more times than not these are small minded folks...

yup...i mean i bought a badge that says 'you can't spell crap without rap'...but it doesn't mean that i mean it...because even rap comes in different forms....i wrote one as part of a protest in school...and yeah granted it's not the best one ever...but it's pretty good....and 'Turn It Down' by The Sweet was classed as rap...especially Steve's vocal inserts.

Aniseed : 'you can't spell crap without rap'

    Where can I get one?

Are you kidding that Turn It Down is classed as rap? That song was recording in like 1977. Them were rap free days.

If you listen to it now, it's got a little rap in it. It's a great song, though, but there are just a couple of parts when it's like 10 seconds of talk without music.

I haven't heard a mean word about glam rock...Except for my best friend who happens to be an old fashion punk (yes, many of my friends laughs at the sight of the two of us)...
I hate rap. Can they call it music? You don't sing - just talk. The music is made on a computer by someone with a fast computer and the right program. Damn. It's almost pathetic!

I really have a headache after thinking that out. Hah!

Anyway, I've heard a lot of craps about "us" from punkrockers a lá the 80's. They say we wear too tight clothes, too short skirts, too much make-up and hairspray. And that we all look the same. (Sure we look alike, but not the same!) And becuase of that last I got into a huuuuge fight with the guy. As if punks doesn't all look the same with their lack of hair and bad smell?!

But to me it's still war like it was back in the days; they bash on glam, I bash on their stupid nazi boots.

Hmm ignorance must be bliss I've many friendz in the punk community that love glam as much as I do,as for punks being nazi's you must totally be living under a rock as the majority of punk bandz are the most anti nazi around,go out and educate yourself you might learn something new.
