    Absolutely despise glam metal?
My boyfriend is the exact opposite of a glammer.
He's into doom metal and plays in a doom metal band.
If you don't know what doom metal is, refer to this
I actually like doom metal too, but he really does not like glam metal!
People think our relationship is so weird considering I had previously dated a guy who fronted a glam band.

Anyways, my point is, do you have any friends who hate glam metal,
but you are still able to have a great relationship with them?

Yeah, I have a ton of friends who like glam on the internet, obviously.
I figure I've scoped out almost every person who likes glam on myspace, LOL.
But it's definitely annoying that no one here likes it, or even knows of it!
But I'm lucky I have a pretty eclectic taste in music which allows me to get along with almost anyone despite their musical preferences.

One of my friends only likes country. A couple others listen to country or pop. I like such a huge mix of everything that I basically fit in with all of them. Not a lot of them enjoy my love of glam, my husband does... and one of our friends does. But they don't have to listen to what I like, I can respect that choice... that's why ipods have headphones. :)

Sadly, most of my friends are into emo/"alternative" rubbish, though my best friend and I are both into mostly the same music but it'll take some effort to snap her out of her grunge trance and get her more into glam. She likes the music but can't seem to get over the whole androgyny thing, she apparently thinks it's "poofterish". Though I think she has admitted to Paul Stanley being hot. (She'll deny it though)

I have a lot of Metalhead friends, some of which hate most or all Glam, and refer to it as "false metal" or something like that. Personally I don't really care if it's Metal or just Rock, since I like my Glam just the same anyway.

Most of my friends like two-three songs or so. My best friend like much glam, but she listen to everything else. But she love eric brittingham : D I dont think any of my friends hate it, but none like it as much as I do. None of them dress glam or anything.

Haha, one of my friends is a metalhead, he thinks glam is ok and he'll come to the gig but he calls it "fag metal" :?

I don't have that many friends. But most of them like glam. A band (glam rock/-metal) of few of them was looking for a guitarist and they took me and now we're friends. That's why.

But I also have a friend who thinks that most of the glam rockers are ugly, stupid and so on and he listens to mostly japanese rock. Though he likes KISS and Hanoi Rocks.

My girlfriend is dificult one to define... Oh well, let's just say that she also likes glam.
So most of my friends do like glam metal!

That sounds pretty much like my best friend. Except she'd probably say "Poofter Metal".
I don't get her, sometimes she'll be begging to watch my Alice Cooper dvds and other times she'll be criticising me for having the hots for "middle-aged transvestites".
One minute she'll acknowledge that Paul Stanley is hot and the next minute she'll call him a poof.

Well... yeah aside from one of my friends they all pretty much hate it. But they know I'm a big fan so they do respect it and to me that's good enough.

Nope! Lucky for me all my friends are fans of glam and some even more than me. It's pretty cool because I can be myself around them and not shy away from talking glam :)

A lot of my friend don't seem to like it, they tend to complain about the men with the make-up and puffy hair. Although I did manage to get some of my friends into Motley Crue and W.A.S.P ...

Yeah, I know many people who call it "fag metal" or "Gay LA metal," which REALLY annoys me. But my real friends won't say that around me, even if they think so, because they respect my opinion. And that's what's most important.

However :D I was on Facebook the other day, and I started "becoming a fan" of different musicians on there. I became a fan of W.A.S.P. and the next day, I checked my boyfriend's page and it said, "Tanner has become a fan of W.A.S.P. also." I was SO surprised / happy... because I never would have expected that he'd like them.

It's definitely good to have a wide taste in music. So boring to stick to one genre, in my opinion.

My friends think the same way like they might say "why do you like dudes that look like chicks" and all that, but they just dont understand that this genre is very melodic and has fantastic songs! And who cares if guys are in touch with their feminine side, they still got all the chicks! :)

Yeah, I know what you mean, I have one main friend that like it, the others not so much... and my boyfried... hates it. Alot. He's into all the bands like Avenged Sevenfold (Who I actually like) and then the others like Funeral for a friend ect. I don't think he likes weird but he's managing to cope so far. As for my friends... they don't mind much either, we're still all really good mates. :D

I have a few friends that don't like it. The main ones being my mates boyfriend and his best friend. I don't mind really they don't bring it up in conversation but when it is brought up one of them really rips into it. I'm all for opinions but sometimes it annoys me that they can't say I don't like it and leave it at that.

It's me and my best mate that are really into it. (Her being Scarlette_Emily)

I like lots of music: hairmetal, thrash metal, blues, jazz, country, some poprock (AOR)... And yet my wife tells me my music's either too loud, or it puts her to sleep. You just can't win.
