Oh yeah! Tommy Lee is awesome.

What do you think of Bobby Blotzer from Ratt?
How about Matt Sorum from the Guns and Roses? He's very solid.
Eric Singer is fantastic glam metal drummer as well

Come to think of it, there are plenty of great drummers, you should have done a poll.

It's too late now but for next time, here are the instructions for setting up a poll.

It's easy and provokes the imagination.

metalrulesall : This is a suggestion but I encourage you to take it. When starting this type of thread where you are seeking opinion on a topic, it's better value all round if you set up a poll as well.

It's not hard to do. Here are the instructions on how to set up a POLL in a thread

I like Rick Allen for this. The man lost his left arm, but that didn't stop him. I don't think I can set up a poll because I didn't start this thread but I think the next time I consider starting a thread I may do that.

I always liked Tommy Lee myself, but I don't know if he's exactly my "favorite"

He's up there regardless, and I always admired his technique and skill behind the kit.

Definitely one of the strongest parts of Crue's sound imho.

Still, I like Rick Allen for this category. When you have a one-armed drummer who still does as well as he did when he had both arms, you gotta respect him for that.

metalrulesall, you got it in one.

Tommy Lee is the most brutal drummer in the business. He did a drumming clinic in Boston going back in 2000. He must have been in his prime because what her is capable of is downright mind blowing.

Syndrome, the cause was very unfortunate. He died on the operating table having a cancerous tumor cut out of his heart. R.I.P. Eric Carr

I'll go with Rick Allen from Def Leppard. Any man that can rock out on drums with one arm is alright in my book :)

Joe Elliot has this running joke where he says Rick Allen is a better drummer now than when he had both arms. He's a five star drummer.

There were a lot of drugs, booze and other things....major contributing factors to the destruction of music and artists.

Surprised I didn't mention Eric Carr before, but he was very talented as well!

Truly unfortunate that he died so early. Who knows what he would have done if he hadn't passed away!

Many rock stars seem to die way before their time.
