I've been looking for pics for years, there doesn't seem to be any!
Johnny Depp is probably the most famous ex-glamstar. He played guitar in a band called Rock City Angels who were on track to become as big as GNR before they conflicted with Geffen.
Seconded on the Metal Sludge thing; I mentioned on another thread that they've got Rivers Cuomo from Weezer in there.
and no... Depp was NOT in Rock City Angels... yes, they did have problems with Geffen but bigger than GnR... have listened to their music? More like the next Allman Bros or Molly Hatchet.
On a criss angel documentary I saw,he mentioned that he was in a glam band called the Criss Angel Band in the early 90's.he looks young, but that dude is actually older
Don't know if this counts, but I think it's fucking hilarious: MICHAEL BOLTON(yes, THAT Michael Bolton!)used to be in heavy metal band called Blackjack with BRUCE KULICK on guitar(and sharing songwriting duties w/ Mr. Bolton!!)!!!!!
then he wrote Forever with Paul Stanley
I LOVE glam bolton.I discovered that awhile back when they mentioned it on That Metal Show.or was it Talking Metal?? One of the 2. I looked that up and immediately told everyone I knew to listen to it.cuz no one believed me.he seriously needs to go back to that sound for sure

Johnny Depp was in Rock City Angels, actually, but only for a very short while before 21 Jump Street, and their self titled album is very New York Dolls-esque. Can't speak for the other albums as I don't have them but on that album at least they're definitely not Southern Rock
Michael Bolton's first few solo albums were Glam Rock before he became every middle aged housewive's loverboy. Heres a song that Michael Bolton did in his Glam days after he left Blackjack
Wow, i can't believe i've never heard of him! He's good!
You know, you could say 9 out of Ten of the actual Glam Rock bands/guys were Glam before they got famous - they just didn't change in the proccess, LOL.
Thanks for the Michael Bolton link--I didn't know there were still people who hadn't heard of him!
BTW, YouTube threw up another link to an industry promo film for Blackjack (with Bruce Kulick on lead guitar, BTW) from 1979. The songs are OK, but, um... Tom Dowd produced this??
Also kinda gnarly are the industry suits talking them up--kinda makes you understand why punk came along the way they're so obviously thinking about the money first. (I don't know if things are really better now, though--maybe the industry's just better at hiding it...)

I think the first post really meant people who arent famous for being glam. Like Layne Staley or Pantera, who started off glam but became famous for entirely different styles of music
Hm, do the 69 Eyes count? They started out pretty much rougher style Glam/Sleaze and went goth around 1997/98 when they became quite famous (thanks to Ville Valo, who did back vocals).I hope this will do :
